Buddies Thru Bullies
A Florida-based not-for-profit organization
specializing in English Bulldog rescue.
Since 1997, Buddies Thru Bullies (BTB) members from around the country
gather to watch their ever-graceful English Bulldogs participate in a custom-made obstacle course.

Participants need not be rescues, or members. The only qualification is being an English Bulldog.

"Fun Awards" are also awarded, such Best Dressed Bulldog & Owner/Bulldog Look Alike.
To see Cyndi's Video from the last Bullie Olympics:

The event, free to the public (there is a $1 park admission),
draws a crowd of about 100 people and usually approximately 50 bulldogs - not all are athletes; some are watchers.
(Broward County Park regulations require that all dogs be on leash and have proof of current rabies vaccination.)
So stay tuned for the unique event

Dog Bites by Dr Cindy Rigg

Dog Bites
by Dr Cindy Rigg
In order to prevent a bite, we must modify our behaviors that might incite one.
Unknown animals are due the most caution, but please treat any animal with care/respect, even if the owner tells you that the animal is well socialized.
A. For an unknown animal
1) Never corner or even confront a dog. You might mean well, but this is an aggressive action on your part.
2) Do not pick up anything that the dog may think is a possession. Especially, do not pick up a pup.
3) If faced with an unknown dog, do not run. Smile, but avoid direct eye contact and maintain a calm composure. Talk to the dog in a gentle but firm and confident voice. Never shout or act upset. Seek a way to put a barrier between yourself and the animal, but do not make abrupt movement or throw anything at the animal.
B. For an animal, whose owner is present or is known by you
1) Confrontation and possessions could still be issues; for owned animals, this can include family members. Be cognizant of the dog's behavior in these circumstances.
2) If you play hard with an animal, be aware that the animal's limits are not necessarily yours.

Stay tuned for:what to do if you do get bitten.

Adopt-A-Bull Rescue, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) English Bulldog Rescue organization based in South Florida. We are a network of bulldog lovers and volunteers with an unyielding desire to help English Bulldogs in need of an “intervention.” The bulldogs that enter our re-homing and rescue program may come from animal shelters where they would otherwise be facing euthanasia, some are found as strays and others have been surrendered by private individuals who can no longer care for them. Our goal is to raise the funds necessary in order to properly care for and rehabilitate the dogs in our custody. We strive to provide our rescue bullies with the highest quality of life so they may live healthy and happily with their forever families. It is with strong conviction we have decided to reach out to bulldogs less fortunate than the ones we call our own. There bullies have more than just “a face only a mother could love.” It’s up to us to make a difference in their lives and we can’t do it without your support. Check out our website for the latest bullie blogs and news! Donations of any size are always welcome to help the rescue bullies in need.
