Saturday, August 8
Party Like the Big Dogs at the Square Grouper Tiki Bar, Jupiter inlet. Dogs are usually not allowed, so this is a very special occasion and benefits Friends of Jupiter Beach.

If the Square Grouper sounds familiar, it is the site that inspired Alan Jackson for "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", which was shot partially, there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib8nH4kHjxk

Two exciting events, overlooking the sparkling inlet and lighthouse await those for the $10/pp donation/admission (day & night).

Square Grouper's Dog Wash & Tiki Towel Off is
10 am - 2 pm, with dogs welcome inside the Square Grouper until 4 pm.
For everyone's safety:
Well-socialized dogs. No flexi/retractable leads, please. One dog per handler. No pups under four months old, no females in season.
In the evening, Party Like the Big Dogs (humans only) 7 pm - 10 pm . Enjoy drink specials, giveaways, live music by Vanilla Monk, a tremendous silent auction and more. Proceeds benefit Friends of Jupiter Beach, the volunteer group with 15 years of dedication, in keeping Jupiter Beach clean and dog-friendly.

Award-winning photographer Tina Valant will be snapping photos. Community support is needed with dog-wash teams, event volunteers, auction items, supplies, and sponsorship. Donations of towels for the dog wash are needed; even better, BYOT !

National Canine Cancer Foundation Fundraiser

Cancer is the number i natural cause of death in dogs. 1 out of 3 dogs will get cancer. The National Canine Cancer Foundation is a nationwide, contribution funded, non profit corporation whose mission is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.

Chris Pike, Marketing and Promotion Director from Clear Channel Radio has lost his golden Skylar Blue to cancer and his remaining golden,Kiana, has a brain tumor and will be going up to Minnesota to be the first dog on an experimental treatment.

Chris put this fundraiser out. We came! We spent money and the gang was all there. $1131 was raised. an awesome start.

I was honored to represent the pharmacy and local rescue along with Lisa and Bob.

heres is the link to fund raising page

Dear Friends,

You may have already heard the sad news that the Folke Peterson Wildlife Center is closing.

Our Board of Directors has made the painful decision to close the Center due to financial reasons. The closure, which includes moving more than 350 animals to other appropriate facilities, is estimated to take up to four weeks.

FPWC is funded primarily through foundation grants, which have decreased dramatically since the recent stock market upset left foundations with less to give.

For assistance with injured wildlife in Palm Beach County, the public is asked to call Busch Wildlife Sanctuary at 561-575-3399. In Broward County please call the Wildlife Care Center at 954-524-4302.
Thank you for your support and friendship!

Sincerely,

Heather Landstrom
Executive Director
